| The inherant high face value of this denomination led to higher than usual precautions during the printing process. Increased checks during printing led to the production of fewer errrors. Ofcourse, fewer error notes resulted in the lessor need for star notes to "replace" them. - Star notes, on $500 and $1000 bills are very scarce. They make up a fraction of 1% of all high denomination notes. This PCGS 58 example is one of the highest graded $500 star notes known. The paper is exrtraordinarily clean and the margins are razor sharp. Additionally, we are unable to locate a bend, fold or any type of handling in this note. |
